High Noon

Cerebus #294 (September 2003)
Art by Dave Sim & Gerhard
DAVE SIM:
(from the annotations to Cerebus Vol 16: The Last Day, June 2004)
Page 118  - High noon. For those of you keeping track, the sunlight has been moving through the room as the day goes along. See, when you're Gerhard, those are the kind of things that are going to make your stomach hurt a) because they're darned difficult to do and b) because no one notices. By way of emphasizing the point, I had Cerebus fall into his reverie about the music festival [on pages 116-117] on one side of the room and told Ger to have him awake from it on the other side of the room. If you compare the shadows on page 115 with the shadows on this page, that will tell you how long he was "gone" for.

There were many times, particularly during the last year, that Ger and I would ask each other why we bothered to make things that complicated. There really was no good answer, apart from We might as well and That's just how we are.
